PLEASE SUPPORT OUR SCHOOL
We are always looking to encourage more people to support us at Friends of Ysgol Melyd.
Our meetings are informal and you are welcome to bring your children along with you. We look forward to seeing you.
Our first Friends of Ysgol Melyd meeting was on Wednesday 28th September. It was lovely to welcome back some old faces and we would love to see some new faces as well.
The Christmas Fayre will be on Friday 2nd December at 3pm.
Our next meeting takes place on:
Wednesday 2nd November at 3:10pm
If you would like to join us and help to support the pupils and our school, please come along.
If you would like further information about Friends of Ysgol Melyd, our meetings or you are able to support us in any way please see Miss Mellor on the gate or contact Mrs Williams.
Friends of Ysgol Melyd is our PTA and is made up of teachers, teaching assistants, parents and anyone else who is willing to give a little time to help support our school.
We meet two or three times each half term. We usually meet on a Wednesday, from 3 – 4 p.m in Class 1. Children are always welcome and, if there are a few, childcare can be provided.
We are responsible for organising and running the school diiscos (2 per term), the Christmas and Summer Fayres, and any other events or activities we can think of to raise much-needed funds for school. We also provide staff for the termly bingo nights.
The funds we raise are mainly used to pay for the buses used for school trips and swimming lessons – this means that trips cost a lot less for our parents than those from other schools are having to pay. Funds have also been used to buy books, sports equipment, playground equipment and a camera, to name but a few things! PLEASE CONSIDER JOINING THIS (CURRENTLY) SMALL GROUP.
If you can’t attend meeting but are willing to help with any of the activities we organise please speak to Miss Mellor one morning. Alternatively, if you can’t help with evening activities please feel free to bring along any ideas you may have to a meeting. ANY help is valuable – putting chairs away after a disco…making tea on a bingo evening…decorating the school for Christmas…!!!
